A rowdy bunch of damned misfits battle to the death in this fast-paced deathmatch brawler grappler for 2 to 4 players. Developed in Unity

We've been building this on the side since the beginning of January, while working on the Laser Fury re-design. More info and gameplay to show very soon!

Very cool looking!

You may want to consider toning down some of your background elements - some of your darker vines, especially, look almost like foreground elements. The scenes starting to look a bit overly busy and hard to read.

Big Duke's clocktower lair.

Thanks for the feedback! We'll definitely keep that in mind as we continue, since we're still in the very early stages.

Posting more environment work as we put together some prototype gameplay. Here's Spoopy's mansion!

An interesting project, really looking forward to this. Would be nice to see some action packed gifs though, maybe some actual fighting between the characters? Smiley

Prepping some GIF prototype gameplay for tomorrow. Here's the Necronaut's space station!

With the background rotating that fast, it looks like the space station is spiraling to it's death.
Flashing red lights and sirens would be fun.
I think P3's character is my favorite.

Flashing lights and sirens is a wonderful idea, we'll take that onboard most certainly!

P3 needs your love and cuddles, you know being armless and having that machete stuck in his skull!

P3 is Spoopy. Spoopy is MY BOY! Also yeah, adding some lights and sirens could be cool to add a bit of distress to fit the spiraling! The movement of the background is going to be more random later to be a bit hectic.

Quick update on the audio side of things!

So for the music, we decided to go with a per-character's stage basis, similar to Street Fighter, so each time you play on a certain stage, you'll hear it's corresponding music. With this in mind it gives me a lot of ways to implement atmospheric and ambience sounds to accompany the stage's feel.

Here's an example:
https://soundcloud.com/kc_portman/spooks-n-spikes-bdukes-theme

This theme is for B.Duke's area (the pink knight looking dude). His stage consists of almost a steampunk feel, with his giant clock tower in the BG, along with steam powered traps and pipes (screenshot a few posts back).

Testing very early battle mechanics. 3 hits lead to a stun, allowing you a small amount of time to grapple your opponent and throw them.

This looks intriguing, the colors are oddly charming, very nice :3

Looking forward to bash my lil' bro in this (or he bashing me, he likes this kind of games)

Will there be a way to recover from being stunned?

Yeah we are first going to try out a min and max stun time. So you can quickly button mash to break the stun for the minimum time.
