dont know what you're planning for the 1v1 but it would be cool if you could wiggle out of the other player's grasp somehow

Yeah man, for sure! That's definitely an idea floating around, I think we're gonna try out the good ol' button mash to free yourself idea first, that should work with 1v1 as well as more hopefully! Thanks for the suggestion Smiley

Look'n good!
You might want to put lighter png/gifs in a quote field, so you can see what's happening.
Here's an example that may or may not be here just because I love everything about this character.

Hi Zorg!

Ok, that's unfortunate. Could you be more specific what it is you don't like? Is it the name or the graphics?
Hopefully it's something you can look over since you like the rest and we've already made the logo/name public.

Yes, sorry i was not constructive. The graphics are great and the logotype is well executed, but i think the title does not represent the gameplay nor the quality of the game. Of course it's a very subjective impression, but the title sounds more like a casual smartphone game to me. Even if spikes are an essential part of your gameplay design, it's nothing you have to mention in the title, lots of spikes exist in almost every platform game. If your game had no title, i'd not call it 'spooky' in general. Skeleton and the hollow machine and their maps sure are spooky, but the frog and his home is 'mystical' and the space station maybe 'dangerous'. It's hard to describe, i just think the title feels out of place.

Additionaly many of the pictures you posted show the frog/forest and i like this setting by far the most. I'd love to see more nature stages and other animals instead of skeletons, machines and astronauts. The stages and characters could be taken from four different games.

Maybe you could tell more about the characters and why you chose these four, do you think they all have spookiness in common?

We're still in the process of working on battle mechanics and throwing/grabbing, we're aiming to make it as fun and satisfying as we can.

Next up, wall slams and new effects!  Beer!

Thanks for the feedback Zorg!

All of what you've mentioned are things we've already planned to explain in the end. The game is by far serious in its visuals and that's intentional. It doesn't mean the game is not serious or that we're not developing with a seriousness in mind. We want the players to experience tight and good quality gameplay with both local and online multiplayer, but at the same time have a laugh to all the weird features it will have, with your friends.

We also wanted the characters and their settings to have distinct differences between them and strong personalities so you can more easily develop a relationship with them.

But like I said, all what you mentioned will be explained in the end =) Including frogs in space!

(Our Frog character for example, has his own story and is the only one who's not a "Spook")

Johan was sad that the dart he worked hard on was too fast and barely visible. Here you go, Johan.

Maybe the darts could have a glow, like the fire.

I like the mechanics of the game, it looks smooth! Are you using Unity's 2D physics or is it custom code for controlling the characters?

Thanks guys! Some kind of glowing fire trail particle could be cool for the dart, we'll test it out!
