I'm trying to draw a cheetah from a overhead perspective with hopefully 8 directions.
 I want something that is easy to animate and to adapt to make other animals (as I plan to create other safari animals),
but as you can see from my first attempts they don't look much like cheetahs,

It's not bad but it looks a bit chihuahua-like. I would advise increasing the resolution if possible.

yeh thanks, I realize that.

But I think I lack the necesary skillk to make a cheetah form in box shape animal, I'll think I'll continue from one of the image from the first graphic

Things that make it look like doggie:
-pointy nose
-short legs with fat body
-pointy ears
-short doggie tail

Sorry for the off-topic, but that's cruel what humanity has done to the dogkind.
