Man, this game looks WONDERFUL! Definitely something I could sit and play.
Also, as far as music, your samples INSTANTLY made me think of the ScubaBear soundtrack --
I can't really think of any other indie rpg games with a soundtrack that has a tropical flair. Every aspect of this game (those seen and those not yet foreseen), gets me excited!

I wanna point out that the tubes don't read much as tubes to me by the vertical openings, and also that it's bothering me that duckie goes behind the opening rather than in it, but I guess that's temporary, haha.
I'll work on the way the tubes look! And yeah I need to fix the draw order so the enemies go inside the tubes properly. It works ok for Leilani already. Have you considered adding a kind of one-way cap to the top of the vertical tubes, like a folding gate or something? It might help explain why you can't enter them, plus it could be used to make them look more tubes :) I should add that this game looks INCREDIBLE! I've been checking this thread every few days in hope of new gifs/updates

Thanks for the recent nice comments! Have you considered adding a kind of one-way cap to the top of the vertical tubes, like a folding gate or something? It might help explain why you can't enter them, plus it could be used to make them look more tubes Yeah I've considered that, so will give it a go when I get round to improving the tubes. Thanks! End of BreakMe and Leilani are back from our sightseeing break, so development will begin again at the weekend. I'll be focusing purely on level design, seeing what interesting things I can come up with, get some people to play it and see what areas need most attention. Music!I'm also pleased to announce that the game now has a composer! Will reveal more details soon and hopefully a demo track.

Nice to see such a polished platformer, liking everything about this project.
The way you can roll and then kick characters is a nice touch and I'm looking forward to see what type of puzzles you can build with it.

Love the polish of how well animation, particles, screenshake, level design, enemy design.. basically everything works together. Also really nice to see such an interesting choice of main character.

MusicI'm happy to announce that the super-talented Leila "Woofle" Wilson is doing the music for Leilani's Island! Here's an example of one of the tracks from the game to give you a taste of what to expect: Leilani's Island: Sunshine Sands on SoundcloudA really nice laid-back tropical theme for the game's beach level(s). Hope you enjoy listening!

Been seeing this around a number of times! It looks really fun, I was enjoying playing games like Rogue's Legacy but more minimalistic games are really appealing more and more to me especially when they look as good as this.
What I think I like most is the character, she's unorthodox but she seems to kick major ass and hold her own, most unorthodox characters tend to be played up as wimps and that's always kind of... deflating. Keep it up!

Thanks all for the nice comments about the music! I'm really happy you like it as much as I do! I'll pass those on to Woofle. Weekly UpdateI don't have much flashy stuff to show off this week unfortunately. I've been getting back into working on the game after my short break. I did do a little bit of level design like I intended, but felt like a couple of small things needed adding first. Collapsing platforms now re-appear after a few seconds. I fixed some bugs in the collision detection that I'd introduced when I made the recent changes regarding collision priorities. I also added more directions for the cannon, so they'll be much more useful for level design. The projectiles have trails now too, which makes them stand out a bit better. Plan for this week: put together some more level sections revolving around collapsing platforms and cannons.
