Wow I finally managed to add the shader in the engine and to correct the normal map displacement and other stuff.
Here are now non static image!  Beer!

I had to fork box2DLight to be able to use it on some multiple pass rendering (light reflexion on water and other stuff).

Water engine step 2, now adding fluid simulation.
The engine is based on springs and libgdx meshes.
I will try to add a distortion shader later to create some nice refraction effect.

That water is absolutely gorgeous, the movement and reflections look so good! It adds so much depth to the scenes. Wowowow.

I am trying to create the title style for Tikotep, but I think it is not really readable.

You could design a tikotep totem pole. But you would need an additional horizontal logo in this case.

Mockup:

I guess you could do better. :D

Or how about this:

A quick edit, but I hope you get the idea. 'Adventure' would be with the current wooden font with leaves.  Smiley

edit. and by the way, great project - I've been following this for a while now, never posted here though Wink

Hi Mattie, you are very welcome.
Thanks for the idea, I think I can get something cool with these ideas.
Perhaps the wood of the totem can be in shape of "D" to replace the D of adventure.

I know I may focus on the game title, but it's been some time now since I wanted to implements the canoe stuffs.
Here is the result, it remind me about some trecking in Canada.

I can almost ear the wolf howling on the forest behind.

After a lot of test/brainstorm/cofee, I finally managed to get something that look better for the game title.

What do you think of this version?

(Thank you all for your feedback/ideas, it was very helpful.)

the background gives a bit mature game vibe while the game title hints to a game for kids which is great.

Yep that looks pretty awesome to me!

Perhaps have him rowing along and the screen going with him to show some nice parallax?

Absolutely, and the background scrolling indefinitely, it can be a nice title screen.
I will add the "New Adventure", "Continue your journey" menu item below.

Combined with your previous animation, this would be such a perfect loading screen. Something about being on a canoe, in the wilds, in the middle of the night just paints the perfect setup for an adventure. So niiiiice.
