So I'm kind of new to game programming but my favorite language since testing the waters of coding has been LUA. I recently found a 2D game development version of LUA called LÖVE. It's a pretty new project these guys are working on but I think it's excellent. I was wondering if anyone else here used it.

Yeah, I used it for a while. It's really nice for making quick prototypey things. It still has a few bugs, and doesn't really run very consistently on different computers, but I really like writing in Lua, so it is a nice engine in that respect. The addition of the physics engine really made it awesome. I would totally recommend it over something like Game Maker, if you're going to actually be writing code anyways.

I've recently been learning C++, and if I had the control of C++ and the ease of use of Lua, I would be in heaven.

(Hooray for LuaBind)

There's a Mac version finally!

Now that it is more cross-platform, I am all over this like a man who loves pies on a really big pie.

While I do love it, my main problem with it is it has no collision detection. I've made a pretty simple game, the only problem is I can't stop my ball from jumping. Does anyone know some sort of fix for this...
