the video is probably a thinly veiled "glorious nippon anime superior to baka gaijin realism" sort of thing lol
I thought the point was more that it's a gimmick, but as a gimmick it's not even that beneficial.

whats a gimmick? using actors at all or just using famous actors? because almost every higher budget game uses actors these days (voice acting, mocap, photo references). face capture is just the next evolution of mocap and will probably become more common in the next few years.
i mean, most of these AAA devs are going for realism, i don't see what's gimmicky about using techniques to help them achieve that goal.

Using famous actors yes. I'm quite sure it still takes roughly the same amount of work to model a fictional character as it is to model an existing person, because you can't really exaggerate features and have to be more precise with an existing person. There's nothing wrong with using mocap or face capture. Even with animation the captured frames have to be cleaned up, so again it's probably roughly the same amount of work to get a fictional character as an existing person animated.
I mean, I'm fairly confident that Kojima is able to create something magnificent with these actors. Having them on screen like this probably changes the meta-commentary in some manner as well, who knows.

^ yeah, super this (same for 3d scanning models -- do you really think theres a team of sculptors out there who can get a 100% consistent level of detail and realism as eachother starting from scratch on ~10 characters?) if you're going for a very photographic, naturalistic look scanning and mocapping a bunch of stuff and then doing uniform cleanup is gonna be a hell of a lot easier than trying to wrangle a ton of artistic miracles. That said, it introduces technical costs, need to hire actors/models, etc, and I have no idea of the details of what makes each one expensive, so who knows what's cheaper and when. It definitely makes sense for artistic and workflow reasons.

So now it's a Trap Runner remake? ? The beautiful subtlety in the naming is that the "man" part of it doesn't refer to the main character. It's actually referring to the target audience of the game.

Fun fact bomberman act zero is actually historically close to teh original bomberman As taken from the English NES manual:
“Bomberman is a robot engaged in the production of bombs. Like his fellow robots, he had been put to work in an underground compound by evil forces. Bomberman found it to be an unbearably dreary existence. One day, he heard an encouraging rumor. According to the rumor, any robot that could escape the underground compound and make it to the surface could become human. Bomberman leaped at the opportunity, but escape proved to be no small task. Alerted to Bomberman's betrayal, large numbers of the enemy set out in pursuit. Bomberman can rely only on bombs of his own production for his defense. Will he ever make it up to the surface? Once there, will he really become human?” That's the same story of act 0 so in fact act zero wasn't a gritty reboot, it was a return to form konami redeemed Super Bomberman R: 3 Different Ways to Play 8 Player Multiplayer on Switch

I don't even understand what caused you to mention transphobia to be honest. Can you elaborate?
