Alright, here's the kick animation as well as an updated punch ani:

The grab animation looks nice, but shouldn't he be grabbing from the side?

I'm not sure if that's supposed to be the grabbing animation.

I think that was the grab animation for when he grabs an existing block, not another fighter.
... you guys want another screencap of the game for proof, or am I good here?

Yeah, that's true in the original game, but will Lyle also pick up block items like that?
I think it would give him a bit a of a speed disadvantage, since other characters can pick up items instantaneously.

Oh, and now that I think about it: Lyle also needs a throwing animation for other items than cubes.

can't they just sit in the same place on top of his hands?

Good, so here's an edit of Lyle taking a cra- I mean, Lyle picking up stuff (yay for fecal humor!) as well as his grabbing animation (which could also work as an alternative to picking stuff up from the top).

Just bumping the thread again to say that I finished the animations for the phantom cube - check the original post to see them - and hereby officially declare Lyle as [DONE]!

That's great!

One question, what is the 'pick up' animation for?

I'm not sure, actually. Smiley
JLJac came up with it and I didn't want to let it go to waste, so I included it.
If or how it will make it in the game I'll leave up to Soulliard...

Lyle actually still needs one more tiny animation. There needs to be a frame or two of cool-down after he throws foreward.

I'm not really sure what JLJac's animation is for either...  Shrug

It would be pretty cool if, when grabbing someone, Lyle would stay ontop of his target doing that pick up animation for a while.

Maybe he could use the "Grab" animation when standing on ground and the "Pick Up" animation when he's airborne.

Just trying to find a way to fit that in, here.

Done - check the OP for the new version - there are two extra frames at the end before going back into the idle position.

Well, I guess we can say we've just about hit the second milestone.
Sweet! When do we get to play it?  Well, hello there!

I don't really know why I made that animation myself, it's just that I think it's one of his most characteristic animations from the original game, ya know...

It would actually be pretty cool to have a version of the grab that is an air attack. You could use it when in the air above an enemy, and then Lyle would attach to the enemy's shoulders for half a second looking like that, and then they switch places instantanously and the enemy is grabbed. It could have a little "range" vertically, so that even if Lyle was not perfectly in position he would snap downwards and grab. Would behave a lot like how you handle blocks in LiCS, where you tend to pick them up the exact frame you land on them.

It would be fun to fit it into the game, but if it's not possible I don't mind too much Shrug

Also, nice edit rostiger! Hand Thumbs Up Right And hooray for being finished with this! Hand Shake Right
