I can't really appreciate this, now I have to go to seperate art things for different things. I don't know, subforums don't really make life easier, all they do is generate less trafic to your topics imo.

This is quite useful: http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?action=unread

I think it's nice that music people have somewhere distinct now.

Well, I think you can still click the bouncing joystick for the "Creative" subforum group to get a list of all of the new posts therein.  It might be a little closer to how it was...

EDIT - No, sorry.  I guess that's not true.

This segregation is blasphemy!  Mock Anger

I know that having it's own board usually encourages more posts in that area, but I feel as though it also removes some of the charm of finding a unique topic. It's not as though topics were overshadowing other topics anyways. I want my old tiggie indieness back!  Panda

I also prefer the old layout, though it might have been a good idea to add the subforums the the projects section.

I prefer the new layout. I think this forum is getting so many new members that a separation into subforums makes sense. It was getting a bit crowded with so few forums. Topics would disappear off the first page of a forum in a day or less in some cases. That's usually a sign that it's a good idea to split one.

I like the new layout! With all the art, it was hard to find design and music and dev threads.

A seperate dev-log subforum is an excellent idea.

I'm all for extra organisation, as then if I'm looking for something in particular I can find it. For my everyday browsing all I ever use is "Show unread posts since last visit" so it's no skin off my rosy nose if stuff is in a load of seperate places.

i was so excited to see the new organization.  Its so nice to have music separate as well as the devlogs.  Especially the devlogs.  It will definitely take a bit of getting used to though.

It's a good idea, but really it's not 100% necessary. I think a devblog sticky like what's been done on some other forums, with links to each devblog, would have a little more utility and let people keep what's there.

Maybe we could have the subforums each with a seperate link, and still keep a single forum that has all of them? Like, Art and Design, if you clicked THAT, would show EVERYTHING included in it, but you could also click an individual subforum, Art for instance, to see JUST that?

I don't know what all of you are complaining about.  Yes, it's new, and not what it used to be, but what it used to be was an unorganized mess.  A mess we were all used to, yeah, but a mess nonetheless.  And with TIGS getting bigger quite quickly, that mess would have gotten out of control within a couple months (and for those of us who've been here for over 6 months, we've already seen things get a lot more active, and although the increased activity is probably something to celebrate, the growing messiness certainly isn't).

So yeah, organization ftw.  Beer!

Subforums are definitely a good idea for the Projects board, but I can't say I like Art & Design being broken up so much.

Maybe we could have the subforums each with a seperate link, and still keep a single forum that has all of them? Like, Art and Design, if you clicked THAT, would show EVERYTHING included in it, but you could also click an individual subforum, Art for instance, to see JUST that?

I would like this.
