nope, never played any.. I have been warming up to them a bit more now, but I still think that most of them play too slow and have so many statistics and data that feel like playing a spreadsheet to me.

so Space Grunts will certainly be different, but I think it has a nice balance for both type of players, especially those that are interested by the concepts but prefer a bit of action/speed in their games

I  shown your game to one of my friend and he thought that Space Grunts looked too much like Nuclear Thrones.
He thought that the game was visually on the edge of plagiarism.

Your game looks really really like Nuclear Thrones, I don't know if that is a problem or if it will be a problem in the future, but I thought I should tell you about that.

The HUD and perspective of the game remind me of Nuclear throne. And it's clear you were inspired by Nuclear throne, but I can easily see that this is an Orangepixel game by the artstyle. Good job looking forward to more!

It has a very distinct aesthetic that just happens to have some fluorescent green in it. I can honestly say this excites me as much if not more than nuclear throne because I do not have the motor skills for nuclear thrones and find I enjoy a game more when I can plan my movements a little.

I don't know, The first images in the first post could be (I think) confused with Nuclear Throne.

But as I said in my other post, I was repeating what a friend of mine said.
Space Grunts seems awesome and I'm eager to play it.
But I just thought give you this feedback I had.
Maybe it will be the only time someone complains about that, and everything will be cool.

People will definitly make a link with nuclear throne. (hud, perspective, mood) but it's good actually. A lot of people are thirsty for more nuclear throne and there is nothing similar yet.

Exactly, that's the only link between the two.
NT is pure fast action and SG is turn-based... for me the gameplay look totaly different...
They are just 2 great upcoming games.  Grin

I've been adding the animation scene's that setup the story/introduction stuff:


and also added a datacard+cpu system to give some hints, tips, and general lore:



you'll find cpu's sparsely spread around  the moon-based, and datacards even more sparsely in a "collect-em-all" style:
