I just wanted to give this post a bump up, since we're still happy for new members to join our "Composers Circle"! Any skill level is OK to join us Just send me a PM here with your Skype name so I can put you into the group or use this link: https://join.skype.com/lLybdaMCbMehLooking foward to welcome new faces to this group -- Alex =============== Hey there, I'm quite new to this forum, so "hello" to everybody! I just realised I do know some game developers but actually nearly no other game composers. I think it would be cool to talk about composing & sfx and maybe having some guys to "pass" projects to if one's sure that other guy would be more suitable for the job. What do you think? Like a "composers circle" or something. Greetings, Alex

I basically already do the latter, but usually to composers that I've known for several years and I'm rather familiar with the type of work they generally produce. Not a bad idea to try and make connections though... can learn quite a bit from each other regardless of how much each of us might think we know.

Thanks for the reply. Your music sounds great! I can understand you want to keep it in a circle of people you already new and I'm also quite new to the scene. If there's still some interested I'm happy to connect through skype or something!

I would like something like that too. As a self-taught composer with relatively little experience I often need an opinion of someone who knows much more about music in general. I'm totally shy about my own music . So if you're not planning this as a group of super elite composers with a tonne of experience, count me in .

Hi Will and Ark! I'm very about meeting people and whatnot, and you can always send tracks my way if you'd like if you want some feedback! I know there's a thread in this section that's dedicated to music feedback, i can find you a link! But other than that, you can always shoot me an email if you need help cooler chords or anything in particular! i'm pretty good with theory!

I'm sure peeps are more than welcome to share thoughts, etc... http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=3248.2820There're a lot of other forums where you can get feedback as well.

Welcome William! I'm all up for joining this composers' circle. The feedback thread Neaptide referred to can be found right here. It's a warm place, and perhaps it should be stickied? Also feel free to PM me if you've got any questions about anything related to composition.

@Barendhoff, yep, it's much more personal than the current stickied "show your work" thread.

Cool there's so much interest! I was thinking of sort of a composers Skype text chat group like those usually for the development team. Where somebody can ask something and the others can reply. I think anybody is welcome as I'm also quite new to game music!
Any other ideas instead of that group? If not I would send around my Skype name via PN

I think a SoundCloud group wouldn't be as functional as something like a Skype group.

Someone already made a group on soundcloud a few years ago... though I'd place money on them not paying much attention to it anymore... https://soundcloud.com/groups/tigsource-soundcloud-groupI drop stuff in there from time to time despite the lack of attention the group actually gets. :p

Just a short update on the group. Since June when we founded the group, 22 game composers joined and there's active help and exchange throughout the group. We're still happy about new members, so anyone interested can send me a PM here...!

Instead of Skype I'd suggest to check https://slack.com. It's free, has a backlog search, nested comments and other functionality which make it a great tool for a group like you suggest.

Hey Michael, I just took a look at Slack and created a Composers Circle group there for testing. It looks quite nice but everyone would need to discuss in the right #channels I suppose. Why don't you join our Skype group first, I would be happy to have some more people from my timezone to discuss with. Greetings from Leipzig, Alex
