Hello all!

Please help me name my game.

In the game you play the same character over and over again. It is a RogueLITE space exploration game with procedurally generated locations (planets, countries, places of interest).

Each time you die (frequently) your character is cloned with a little more experience (or rather, genes acquired from the previous run) and can upgrade weapons and abilities.

You fight in space to control planet airspace, then you invade the planet and perform objectives like 'assassinate the leader' or 'find documents X' og 'destroy building' og 'explore cave to find X'.

There are a lot of different mechanics, like navigating a spaceship, driving a car, flying a fighter jet and a bomber, flying a rescue helicopter, driving a tank and a space buggy, running around as a marine etc - everything in glorious 2D (both top-down and sidescrolling view).

There are a lot of alien races with different units and different types of environment (lush, rocky, volcanic, ice...)

So that's the background, but I am really struggling to find a name that encompasses all of these things.

So then I turn to you, the eminent members of this fine forum...  Gentleman

Something like...

Galactic Progeny

...may steer you in the right direction.  Obviously, you don't want to oversell the scope, so maybe Galactic isn't right.  I think most people know the meaning of Progeny (maybe we can thank True Blood for that!). I at least think it sheds a little light on the 'clone being better than the original' concept.

Sounds like a cool idea.  Good luck!

"One Man Army"

"Myself and I"

"Two of a Kind"

"Procedural Regeneration"

The last one is my favorite. It gives the genre and the clone mechanic at the same time.

"Steven and the Stevens" (or a variant)

"Me, myself and I"

"Backup system"

One of the major mechanics is passing on skills via genetics? How about "Epidotype"? Sounds pretty space-y too.

Genotype: from Greek genos- (race) and -tupos (type).

Epidotype: from Greek epite- (skillfullness) and -tupos (type).
