Pfew.. just finished all the Steamworks integration work Tired Quite a lot of work and then Stacks only supports Achievements & Stats Cheesy

So, the game will be released on November the 2nd on Steam! Looking forward to it Smiley

In the meantime I will further try to notify the press etc. I've done this in the past for my previous games and know that it is very difficult to get any response. I'll probably focus more on Youtubers this time. Hey, and if it doesn't work, well, I don't care actually. If the game is fun it will find an audience. If it won't then it is probably not fun.

So what's next apart from the media thing? Co-op multiplayer! Quite a tough one actually: the game needs to synchronize its million dynamic blocks across the network. I've got some ideas though. I'll keep you updated on the progress.

It has been a while since the last update!

The last weeks I mainly worked on adding Fire to the game as well as on polishing the overall gameplay, adding help and fixing bugs Smiley

Here's the changelog of the latest version (0.3.5):
  • new: fire
  • new: match sticks item
  • new: help on crafting
  • fixed: blocks acting strangely when broken loose.
  • fixed: Chuck did not die when falling outside the world.
  • fixed: intensive screen shakes after restarting the game or loading a saved game.
  • fixed: some block types were falling really slowly.
  • fixed: chests (once empty) can now be picked up and built with.
  • fixed: added load and save hotkey descriptions to the help.
  • fixed: added some tips to better explain the game.
  • changed: when game over the player now has a chance to restart or load without first going to the title screen.
  • changed: no more fractional prices (with decimals).
  • changed: limited the amount of explosions a crawler can do to get unstuck.
  • changed: hotkey assignments.
  • changed: both breaking and picking up can now be done with a single right-mouse-press-and-hold action.
  • changed: various tweaks and minor fixes.

Did another update. This build will be the one going live on Steam on the 2nd of November.

  • new: relic compass. This special compass helps you find the hidden Relic.
  • changed: eating a Baked Potato will now give 3 health instead of 2.
  • changed: title screen: changed credits to rolling credits.
  • changed: using an item (like eating a Baked Potato, or activating the Relic) can now also be achieved by left-clicking on Chuck.
  • changed: increased prices of buy items.
  • fixed: RC mode is now enabled from the start in Creative mode.
  • fixed: the RC mode control pad's state is now properly restored after loading a saved game.
  • fixed: Coins were producable with a Factory from Gold.
  • fixed: it was impossible to craft the Mob Beacon (with a Factory).
  • fixed: bug that caused corrupt terrain after the game was restarted.
  • fixed: states of Atomic Bomb, Lever, Rocket Engine and Mob Beacon were not correctly saved to save game.
  • fixed: when the game is paused, everything is now paused, including sprite animations and particle emitters.

Ok, one more update before the release Smiley

  • new: added some particle emitter here and there.
  • changed: explosion forces are now accumulated. Which means that e.g. 2 exploding TNTs generate a higher force than 1 exploding TNT.
  • fixed: no sound when an oil barel exploded.

The explosion forces item just had to be in the game!

As promised, here is the latest update! This update comes with 2 new weapons and the much wanted volume slider and full screen / windowed toggle.

Here's the complete change log for this release:
  • new: seismic gun
  • new: minigun 
  • new: settings dialog with controls for music volume and full-screen/windowed mode. 
  • new: help screen: added tool tips for blocks in recipes. 
  • fixed: trade dialog text could overlap other text. 
  • fixed: flags were activated when touched by *any* particle. 
  • changed: some lighting tweaks.

And this video demonstrates the Minigun, which is excellent against Mob Corp agents!


Thanks everybody for their input!

For the next update I'm planning to add 2x2 blocks building, a Minigun Turret building (for defense) and Mob Corp Fortresses. The latter should replace the randomly spawning worm holes.

Hi guys, here's a minor update on how things are going:

I've added the Minigun Turret and the MobCorp Fortresses. The Turret is a building that is on your side and helps in wielding off the mobs. The Fortresses are on the side of the mobs and help protect their worm holes + flags. Both give the game a new dynamic, which I find very cool. Let's see what you guys think Smiley

Btw. the fortresses are guarded by a new type of Mob: the Sentry. This guy is fierce. He shoots explosive rocks at you when you get too close.

The last thing I want to add to the next release is improved backgrounds.

You can expect the next release in a couple of weeks!

After one month, a big update!

new: turret building.
new: seismic gun.
new: minigun.
new: MobCorp fortresses.
new: Sentry MobCorp agent. Guards fortresses.
new: backgrounds.
new: difficulty settings.
new: audio volume slider + fullscreen/windowed toggle button.
new: tooltips in Help window Recipes section.
changed: diggers will now prefer jumping and stair building to digging horizontal tunnels towards the flag.
changed: MobCorp wormholes now spawn only near MobCorp fortresses on the main island.
changed: better terrain generation.
changed: better lighting.
changed: flying digger now explodes when dying.
changed: factory now produces 25% faster.
changed: the advanced factory now produces twice the amount of carbon fibers.

..and minor bug fixing & tweaking!

changed: increased physics stability.
changed: screen shake is now reset after loading.
changed: disabled screen shakein RC mode.
changed: creative mode: jetpack no longer needs ground below to lift
changed: creative mode: doubled build and break radius.
changed: creative mode: instant breaking while holding the right mouse button.
fixed: relic action zoom factor could clip the background layers.
