Hey Fish, do you have any shots and/or footage of Gamma 256? Curious what the vibe is like.

i wanna make a game that makes me feel like what music like LCD's or Daft Punk's make me feel.
an euphoric trance.
have you seen daft punk's last show? its the greatest religious experience ive ever had. it was communion. with sounds and lights and robots and giant lit-up pyramid.

Oh god, when I was in Germany this summer, I left the country literally ten hours before they played a concert. So sad!

Okay. I've decided that if I'm going to make a game for Gamma... it's going to be with Beat Connection on constant repeat (beating on me) in the background.

I attended last years event and I have to agree with fish, it was a great time. You just don't see events like that here in Toronto but hopefully in the future you will.

So Fish what were the ideas that drove Kokoromi to come up with the design constraints that they chose? Everyone I tell the gamma256 idea to thinks of cel phone games which I'm thinking was not your main focus for deciding the rules. Doesn't seem like the Kokoromi style.

i loathe cellphone games.
now let me put my wank-hat on...
the basic idea for 256 was to come up with a kind of counterpoint to the whole HD-Era clusterfuck, which has to be one of the most confusing thing to happen to videogames ever. 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, the right tv, the right setting, the right cables. its a MESS. and i hate it. so we wanted to go in the complete opposite direction, small and weird, and see what would happen.
also i just really like big pixels.
