My studio (AtomJack) has been starting to show more of the content from the game we're working on. We just posted a new dev blog today that I wrote about modeling one of our main characters:

If you want to read the full blog post, check it out here: http://www.atomjack.net/blog/2015/1/7/modeling-a-stylized-character

I'm still working on this section of the city, but it's starting to come together I think.

That's lovely, put in some scrolling fog planes and you've got the 90s Blade Runner game.

Coming out of the lurker shadows to post a 3d concept for the game I'm working on. In the game you're an astronaut on an alien planet who has to collect minerals and avoid environmental hazards and aliens. With Super Mario 64-style run-and-jump mechanics. The main character concept is shown here. Fun little low-poly planet, yes? Smiley

Armageddon, thank you! Smiley I quite enjoy the look of the Blade Runner game, but it wasn't on my mind until you mentioned it- another source of pre-rendered inspiration heheh!

farther down the alley is this now:

*I'm stilling contemplating how the door will look... sliding automatic doors, or regular old open it up door?*

so I decided to take a break from this city environment, been working on just the city for like 5 days!

bkslsh, nice environment! The ring planet in the sky is a nice touch. And Mario 64 like controls? Sounds like a lot of fun!

@Cellusious I really like the palettes you're working with, especially in your last couple posts.

@swordofkings128 Thanks! Love your nature scene. How did you get the pixelated look with your 3d models? Is it a shader or post-processing of some sort?

I'm really new to these boards, and pretty new to 3D as well (been doing it about 3 months). But I do have a long history of pencil sketching, and I think that skill translated quite nicely to 3D design. I used Sculptris for the 2 models below if you were wondering. Its a sweeeeeet tool for people that are less technical, as you can just draw in 3D more or less.
