Who else here is excited for Super Mario Maker's release next week? Honestly I don't think next Friday can come soon enough. I can't wait to mess around with it, and with my skills create amazing professional looking stages anyone can enjoy.
Anyone else looking forward to messing with the editor, or playing all the Player created stages?
Edit: Gonna post any codes that pop up in this thread here, for easy Reference.

I'm actually kinda interested to see if Nintendo ends up porting it to the 3DS at some point in the Future. It be pretty interesting to see it released on 3DS, and have it be compatible with the boat loads of stages made from the WiiU.
Its honestly a shame you guys don't own a WiiU, there are some really great games available on it.

I'm starting to think the above answers the question for most of people on this website. I guess I'm in the minority here who own a WiiU.

I have a WiiU, but I'm not really excited about it. I feel like this is a pretty small step given that the Mario ROM hacking scene has done a lot more ambitious things.

You're right about the ROM hacking scene ( Reggie! for example is pretty amazing), but Mario Maker is going to give a lot more ppl an easier way to create their own Mario levels then anything else. And that's a good thing.

I used to be into ROM Hacking, but I ended up ultimately stepping away because I decided I didn't want to do it anymore.
At this point Super Mario Maker would be a better use of my free time, and I seriously can't wait to get my hands on it.
Believe it or not I'm pretty good with Level Creation, I've had comments like "Your level looks so professional, almost like Nintendo themselves had made it." or something to a similar effect. Of course that's something that needs to really be seen by other rather than just said by me, so I doubt me gloating here will play out to any noticeable benefit for myself.

Amen to that brother! Perhaps I'll do a showcase at some point after I get the game. Assuming I can locate a DVD recording device. (There was one around here at one point, fairly old, but functional.)

Been on a Mario Marathon in preparation for it. Really helpful comparing the physics and camera control to my game to see what I can improve. And I can't wait for Super Beard Bros Mario Maker weekly challenges.

It has arrived!
I've been putting of getting a Wii U for a while. Mostly because the only bundle I could find was the Mario Cart bundle and I'm not really that into racing games. So when I saw the SMM bundle I thought it was time to finally jump on board. Now that I have one I sort of wish I'd gotten it sooner.
So far I'm in love with this SMM. I really like how they gradually add more building blocks, letting you take in a few things at the time and experiment. But I almost feel they are handing out new stuff a little to quickly. There it a plethora of things to try even with the first row of blocks. More stuff tends to give a more cluttered design. I sincerely hope there be a demo scene for levels using just the first line of blocks, like the 1kb demo scene.

The level creator itself has a lot of potential, though some things are frustratingly missing (like blocks that give you the next level of powerup, e.g. a mushroom normally and a fire flower when you have a mushroom)
The online levels will suck your soul away though. I haven't found an even passable level yet...

(like blocks that give you the next level of powerup, e.g. a mushroom normally and a fire flower when you have a mushroom) really? why is THAT missing of all things? that's like one of the basic mechanics in mario.
