Didn't try anything yet. I've been busy with the procedural generation stuff, but I'll give it a try in the next few weeks  Smiley

http://gdcvault.com/play/1022759/Game-Feel-Why-Your-Death

That could definitely be a helpful video to check out for your impact question earlier!
I found it to be a really nice look at how to layer things for satisfying impact/death animations and gamefeel.

By the way, if you guys need sound design and/or music I would love to talk!
Project looks nice Smiley

Jake

Thanks jake!
I've watched it already but I'll watch again with this problem in mind. It could really help.
We currently already have somebody taking care of the sound but I'll keep your contact anyway!

ENEMIES COLLABORATIONS AND INTERACTIONS

Aaand, it's time for a new update.

As one of the highlights of the game is the enemies AI, we're here to tell what the enemies interactions are about and show an example that we already have.

The enemies are supposed to know when to use each of its skills, defend themselves and, when possible, use other present creatures as an advantage.

Like ranged enemies can get behind defensive enemies for an efficient formation at combat, or maybe using a friend as a mount:

We think these will be responsible for a lot of surprises. Let's work to have a lot of them in the game.

Hey, the AI behavior looks pretty cool! Do they navigate freely in the levels or are you guys using navigation waypoints or something similar?

Also noticed that the goblins can shoot at wolves. So that can be used as a strategy by the player?

Keep the nice work up!

Thanks, andrekishimoto! The AI entities navigate freely while wandering (before they notice the player), after that, they move using a grid graph.

Yes! The intention is to give a lot of tools to the player, so he may use not just weapons and traps to fight the enemies, but also the enemies themselves =]

NEW ENEMY: PYROMANCER

The Pyromancer is slow but can quickly dominate the room if you do not take care of him fast.

We've been able to introduce more enemies to the game recently, and this is a preview of what you will be able to find on the dungeons.  Coffee

Hey doliveira87, thanks for the answers -- didn't get a notification about it so I'm following this topic now.

Pyromancer + fire looks cools, but at first I didn't notice the character, for me it blends with the scenario.

Thanks, andrekishimoto! I guess you're right. We are working on new scenario assets for different levels and we still need to decide which one the pyromancer will take as home  Smiley. So, maybe (just maybe Tongue) we don't need to change it's colors. But I agree, it's blending a lot.

SHOOTING ANIMATION AND COLORS

Heeey people! How is it going?

I bring a not so big but fresh update, first to say that our hunter have a new shooting animation:

Also, I balanced the caracters color that I think needed to be more vivid.
I'm always afraid of saturating colors too much but I think it was an improvement.

GREENLIGHT & DEMO OPENING

This week has being a real rush. I didn't know how big the PR workload would be.
Responding 3 different communities, publishing about everything on the facebook page, three twitter accounts. Answering youtube channels that can potentially make a video of the game.

Let's see how we get out of it.

We just opened Mana Spark Greenlight campaign and at the same time we've put live a demo of the game so anybody can try it.
Feel free to play and vote if you feel like to!

Here's the gameplay teaser of the game:
