Hello TIG_Community,

BlackBones Family started a new game, so it's a good reason to start a new TIG_DevBlog Smiley
You will find my old presentation here

Chains of Chastity (... and other stories)
What is it ?
- a 2D roguellike dungeon crawler
- random generated dungeons
- complete different stories. The first one is Chains of Chastity
- turn by turn
- forge your hero, 35 skills available, choose 5

Technically ?
- based on MonoGame
- run on Windows, Mac, Linux, WindowsPhone (8.1, 10) and maybe on IOS, Android
- can be fully played with keyboard, mouse, gamepad and tactile

Who are we ?
- We use the name BlackBones Family to represent our tiny team
- We don't speak well English
- We are a married couple who loves video games and their development
- She is the artist, he is the coder
- We don't do this game for money, but why not be on steam or different platforms markets

Feel free to visit our website to find a gameplay video

To start this dev blog I will quickly talk about two thematics.

Failure
As everyone, we don't like talk about our failures. At 20% of development, I see one big failure for us, we go too precipitately to Steam Greenlight. Actually the game is too empty to be showed. But this is an experience for us.

New sprites resolution
We doubled the sprites resolution. Here some sample :

I'm not versed in this particular genre, but isn't the light radius a bit too small? From what I've seen in the trailer, you could barely see in front of you.
In any case, I voted for you on Greenlight Tongue Good luck!

First of all, thank you for your vote Smiley (feel free to PM me when your greenlight is ready)

The light radius is something we have to adjust when we start to share the game with friends (alpha testers ?)
Above the XP Bar, you can see a dark bar, this bar is your reserve of oil. Each turn you consume oil and below a certain amount the light radius decreases.

Otherwise, we would also like that the player uses its oil to light the torches of the dungeon.

You'll have to be very careful with that mechanic. It is very smmilar to the hunger mechanic. Which can be very annoying for some people. Minecraft has it, and since they introduced it I found it more of a hassle than it's fun. Terraria introduced it at some point I think and then removed it, or Starbound, I forget.

I guess you'll have to experiment and see.

You are right. Unlike Minecraft this "feature" will exist at the game launch and we will deeply ponder about this.

Some ideas:
- dungeons will have one or more tavern
- food and water loot
- in our skills list, we have stuff like "farmer"
