It’s been a loooooong time since we posted a devlog here last time. But now we want to come back to every week posting.

Like the style/detail - but maybe thin it down just a bit? It feels like it takes up a bit too much screen for the current amount of information shown.

Edit: Really meant that mostly for the 2nd one. That is only applicable though, if the UI is going to be up while your are also navigating the main window. I realize now it doesn't look that way - in which case, those work great.

Today we have something special for you. But let me show you another small features firstly.
Please remember that we are still working on the old models and UI temporary graphics.

Removing trunk obstacle animation



Building opening animation
Every finished building construction process is a happy moment for a player so we celebrate it in the right way ^^



ONE OF THE BIGGEST CHANGES SO FAR - SLOTS REMOVED - NEW CONSTRUCTION SYSTEM
First of all, initially Blocky Farm had to be much simpler and less game. We wanted to make a small farm simulator, so 6 months ago we decided to base the game mechanics on the slots. We took the idea from the Fallout Shelter game. But the more we were developing our game, the more problems we started to see with slots. Slots put too many limits to the gameplay. That’s why we decided to get rid of them finally. Now player is able to construct buildings everywhere he wants to (only if there is a free space).

Just take a look on the first sneak peek of this feature. This is a small step for mankind one giant leap for our BlockyFarm game :cool:

Definitely a good call to allow free building I think. Those models are looking really nice - the "cat in the hat" on your twitter is especially cute Smiley

Great stuff!

Just a thought/comment: I notice that your "Work in Progress" shots have some sort of GI or self-shading going on (it's really soft and subtle). I assume they are pre-rendered, but I really like the look and feel. If you can manage an approximation of that in the game itself, I really think it will take the visuals to the next level.

I say this knowing you probably already have lighting/shadows in mind and just haven't got to it yet.

Looking forward to what you come up with next.

Yes, we've already got a nice effects in our game on the device with stable 60fps (HTC One), but we want to make every element perfect before we show it to the world. But yes, we are close to now to the visuals on renders. Smiley

We were still working on a new UI this week but however we have something new features. Please notice that some UI graphics and game models are temporary.

Advanced pet care
One of our duties is to take care about our pets. We’ve implemented first stage of advanced pet behaviours. Just take a look:

It’s been a while since we posted here but we are overworked too much last time. We are hope you will like our new features and graphics Smiley

Train
First of all, we have new train station and a train with a new locomotive and wagons. What is it used for? A player is able to load a train cargo at the further stage of game. It will take a lot of time to complete it but reward is worth of doing it Smiley
