I've just released my first flash game. Would love to know what people here think of it! I made it in January (before Pathways), but had to hold up the release while looking for a sponsorship. It finally went live last night - you can play it on Kongregate here!(If you want a quick look, there's a video of here )

This is pretty darn fun! Your first boss had me confused for a second, but then I showed it who was boss. I'll be finishing this later.

I just watched aeiowu play this. Great work! It's not an easy-going game by any means; in fact, you did a great job building up the intensity. It hearkens back to the old school days...

Don't Look Back is now a featured game on the Kongregate front page. I have still to play it, though

Cool game. I almost gave up on the black screen and the screen with the 3 jumpers but otherwise the difficulty made it engaging for me.
I wonder if you are also a fan of Out of this World (Another World).

Terry, wow, great job. I haven't had a chance to check out your other games yet, but this one is excellent. The art, music, nostalgic appeal, intense gameplay...all of those are really well done. My only crit would be that you didn't fully do the cleverness and allegorical nature of your ending justice. IMO, with an ending like that you should have built up a bit more meaning through previous interactions, for example some moments of doubt or something like that. Then, once the player got to the ending, it would have had a deeper impact, i.e. on a more emotional level. ////SPOILER ALERT//// It would be cool if the person standing at the grave looked back. Then maybe he (or she) would have been the one who doubted. It's still a great ending, though!

Great name, and i really liked the ending. But i'm afraid the game was not my cup of tea.
I found it to be too short, i finished it in about 10 minutes. I like this Lo-Fi art but i think it could be done better. Neither the walk-animation or the climbing sprite works for me. I guess what i want to say is that it didn't seem polished enough.
I also found the game to be too easy and the bosses a bit of a dissappointment, especially the first.
The jump-physics seem a bit weird, i can't really put my finger on it yet though. Just felt wrong to me. It might be the fact that the character comes to a complete stop if you realease the left/right-button in mid-air. But even if you hold the key all the way through, the arc of the jump still feels odd.
edit: I tried it again, and it looks like the strange jump-physics could be lag.
I do know that length and difficulty is a matter of taste, but since this is the Feedback-area i thought i should give you my impressions. I hope you don't take it the wrong way.

That was a very cool game, Terry! Great job in all the design aspects, except for those rooms where monsters come at you from behind grr! Congrats on all the plays you're getting, must be nice for the pocketbook. The only thing I didn't like was the ending. It was a nice twist, but "that's it" didn't feel right. After all, the main guy wasn't dead unless he couldn't survive all those big falls etc. Did come across a bug, one time the big bad dropped like 40 spiders at once.

There are many great things about this game. I've played it at least 5 times already. lol
There are a few minor problems I've come into with clipping, but it was the dissolving platforms, but it wasn't a big deal.
Great Job, Terry! I love the ending, and I love the overall design of the game.
