It's been quite a while since I've last updated.

Here's some stuff I've been working on:

- Started adding champion versions of enemies, which are essentially harder versions of that enemy. For example, the champion version of the knight enemy charges at a faster pace and rests for shorter periods of time. It also does a bit more damage and has a bit more health.




- Changed the crab-like creature to shoot out orbs directly at the player instead of just shooting left and right. The champion version of this enemy would shoot homing orbs that trail the player for a short while.

A quick update on the new biome I've started work on, the Crystal Depths.



The Crystal Depths will have spike-like crystals that damages the player when they step on top of it in trap rooms. Also, blowing up crystals will drop crystal shards that can be used in many recipes.

An item I have in mind for a crystal item is a shield that instead of blocking, creates a crystal shell that encases the player and blocks any incoming damage. However, the player will remain still when the shell is activated.

Nice walk cycle on that character! Good clear pixel art that's not too close to other game styles i.e. Superbrothers. Good work!

We've got an OST update! All 3 BGM tracks for the "Mossy Cave" Biome are "done". I say that, because they are all still officially "WIP" until we do our final mastering pass, once all the tracks are written. Some tracks still need minor balancing, etc, as well. So some minor things may change between here and release.

Added a new statue for Poseidon.



Still haven't quite decided yet on how to implement a loyalty system for the gods. I was thinking about Hades taking away max HP for his items, Poseidon taking away souls for his items, and Zeus taking "gear slots" in exchange for his god items.

This last exchange introduces a pretty neat mechanic where you have to decide whether or not the Zeus item is worth it for a very valuable and limited gear slot. [Gear slots are where you equip gear for them to take effect]

Worked on another new enemy. This time, it's a ranged creature that fires 3 crystal-like projectiles at the player.

I've now connected biomes together.

The player will now be transported to the next biome/dungeon after defeating the boss.



I've also changed the biome progression for the game. It used to be linear: the first floor was always Runic Caverns, the second was always Mossy Caves and so on... But I decided to randomize the sequence so that the player could get Crystal Depths on the first floor or Mossy Caves in whatever order.

Hello, big fan of yours here. I have a question about the development of this vid-con. Is it true that even in this late part of the game , the part where the true joy of vid-con development can make or break you, that the player can still be a Skeleton

One of the main things I worked on these few days is creating the Crystal Guardian boss.

The Crystal Guardian creates multiple crystal swords that fire at the player and also creates spikes wherever it moves across. During this boss fight, you have to constantly use your dash to avoid attacks.




I also reworked the Rock Titan minions to make them shoot out beams of lasers instead.
