Chopping up cars today, because your ride will be fully customisable. Even though I've chopped only 3 cars up now, it's already fun to mix and match. Colors will also be free to choose of course.

Since tilting = aiming, I guesss "tilt speed" could become a valuable stat for the racecars which you could use as a trade-off when choosing car parts, similar to acceleration/top speed and weight/handling in Mario Kart

Lovely! Now I'm imagining a 'Career' mode where the player takes part in races, earning money to upgrade the car and the weapons.

Good guesses and ideas! That's exactly where we're heading with the game. Tilt speed (handling) would indeed become a valuable stat! But also defense, because a heavy car might accelerate a bit slower, but it can take more punishment from bullets etc.
