Btw, are levels tile-based or drawn entirely by artist(s)?

We extract items out of the original art and put together in the engine editor. Tilemap is only used for build the base wall/floor.
The original art is also a guide for level designing. We don't have to make the level exactly the same as what artist has drawn.

While I think the lighting is an amazing achievement and great idea, I think the screenshots without the dynamic lighting look way better. I can't really explain why but for me the lighting is really offsetting and disturb the mood the pixelart is portraying. Maybe it's because the pixelart is so awesome and I want to see it more clearly haha  Who, Me?

This is honestly some of the finest pixel art I have ever seen. The non-pixely lighting really fits in too. Great job on the global design as well guys!

As others here have already mentioned before, these are some beautiful visuals. The colors are particularly exquisite!

Eagerly looking forward to more updates.

Man this game is gorgeous.
Question, do you think the quality of the art is going to become a bottleneck for development time?

In fact, it's more challenging to make other parts of the game into the same ( or even close ) quality.
But this is a chance, so we have to try, and try hard!  Gentleman
