Loving the vibe of this game! Big fan of anything minimal, takes a lot of skill to do so much with so little.

Loving the atmosphere in the mockups. Gives it an air of mystery and sense of scale sort of like BELOW. Am definitely watching this!

So what kind of puzzle mechanics or gameplay mechanics will there be? Are you just exploring mazes?

Added some random animations for when trying to move in a direction you can't go. The character goes slightly in that direction then snaps back. I tried having he/she take a few steps, but that took a bit too long. Like the walking animations I'll revisit these down the road to clean them up. Now back to the overworld grid.

Interesting concept. Will completing mazes reveal parts of a little story that speaks of where the character originates? Or is it more of a "see how long you can last" sort of thing?

I think this is super cayoote, though.

The aesthetic has this amazing Monument Valley feel to it. This is looking really amazing.

Monument Valley has a great style and will for sure have an influence on the visuals. Same with Below and Limbo. Also what I pictured in my head while reading House of Leaves. I'm going to try giving it its own voice as much as possible, but its more than likely just going to end up being this little visual stew thing.

This looks great! Since you're ditching the whole overworld concept, I've got nothing else to comment about at the moment. But great!

I spent this week doing another pass on the character run animations as well as reducing the movable grid by half. Both of which are feeling much better. Currently there are eight run variations for each direction as well as some lantern particles and footprints. I plan to finish with these animations by the end of next week then moving onto the intro/tutorial animation sequence.

Wow! Has a lot of 80s rock undertones attached to it! I think the dreamy guitar will transfer over well to The Deep Dark! Can't wait to hear what he has in store for the game.

Well, I primarily use my nexus 5 as a test device and ask friends with lower spec'd phones to test it out for me. I have a nexus 6P, but everything works on that so it's basically like using an iphone 6s+ lol. I'll be more than happy to run tests for ya if that time ever comes.

Well, even if you want a general play tester, you can kill 2 birds with one stone and i'll try it out haha. I'm really interested in this mechanic and to see how you'll design the levels.

This is brilliant! Like i said on twitter, very satisfying to look at. A slight meditative feel like Journey and that's great. Keep up the rad work.
