I want to add some shmup music to my portfolio, but I don't really play shmups these days. Googling finds a lot of retro recommendations, and I love me some retro, but I want to try something more contemporary. Any pointers for some inspiration? Thanks!  Coffee

The Touhou series is fantastic for this, for retro try the PC98 games, for modern try the Windows games
Others include, Biometal JPN OST for the SNES (has some nice leitmotifs). Those are two I can name off the top of my head.
Good luck! Smiley

I really like the music of hydorah!

You should also try the game, I really enjoyed it (even if it's super difficult)
