Hello,

Upon request of a few of my studio’s followers, I decided to explain why we didn’t take the crowdfunding route yet. I made an easy-to-digest list with five reasons on our website. Here they are:

1. Can you deliver what you’re crowdfunding?
2. Do you know how long it takes to finish your project?
3. Can you excite people with the current state of your project?
4. Do you have any credentials, or a name that draws people in?
5. What if I get funded, and fail?

Each of our answers are explored in detail on my blog post.

What questions do you think are missing? And did any of you think of doing a Kickstarter/Indiegogo, but decided against it?

Well, I don't have any idea about missing questions, but I agree with almost everything, as it is exactly my thoughts for some months now (and that's why I'm working on a small mobile game right now).

SHARKvince, those are fantastic questions! (and great blog post btw. I'm sharing it on twitter!)

I've talked a few people down from the kickstarter pipe dream.
Mostly, it comes down to being unfamiliar with how to actually deliver a product.

I would include:
What brought you to that pricing? (And can you provide a point-by-point cost breakdown?)
What is your strategy for attracting funders?
How much energy/resources can you dedicate to hitting your funding milestones?
What makes you think kickstarter will be successful?

I would like to add to your 5th question "What if I get funded, and fail?" another point. If I fail to deliever a product or the promised quality, what is my plan B?

What I mean is:
A lot of devs think that not delievering a crowdfunded project is ok. But it isn't and so I think it is important to know what to do, if a developer notice that his/her project is get to fail. Or what to give the backers that they are not tooo disapponted etc etc

I think a very relevant question would be:

How many followers and fans do you have?

If you tally up all your Facebook/twitter/whatever followers, would they be able to fund your project if they all pitched in an average of $1? $15? $20? $100?
