Anyone have the Nikujin exe? Where you play as a naked  Ninja ?

Searched for it, their old site's down.. found an .exe on internet archive & it didn't run. Maybe compatability settings.. ?

Thanks! How did you find that?

Do you have access to more of Ikki's games? Loved the one where you wielded a mace / ball & chain.

Thank you! I took your advice and found a huge gamepack by Ikki!

Tekkuyman is the mace game, pretty fun.

cool!

maybe you weren't finding anything because you spelled his name wrong. it's "ikiki" not "ikki".

either way, he's pretty much a legend who doesn't get enough props these days.

I think for some years the games may have been down, but these last years Ikiki / Uta has always had a homepage where he hosts his games somewhere. It changes every few years, but by searching for "ikiki" and "himoji" you can mostly find it. Here is the current official page with all his games:
http://ikiki.html.xdomain.jp/himoji/game.htm (Here is the "yamigame" section. His "canceled" games, I assumed. Some cool ones, still!)

It's all japanese, but the zip files carry the "english" file name. Just hover over the download links to see the name in the URL.
Pro tip: Google translate the txt file in the game folder, they always have a control list in them, or have a look at my videos in the signature.
He also still releases games, although from what I've played there doesn't seem to be anything major like Nikujin or the awesome Teppoman 2.

I think he deserves more attention, as even his weaker games are often very playful. Though, frankly most of his games just aren't good at all, apart from standouts like Nikujin and the awesome Teppoman 2, which did get some recognition.

I once mailed him but never got a response, I guess he just doesn't speak English, at all. If someone around here spoke Japanese and English, and actually called out to him, that would be great. I think there has never been any public contact between Ikiki and his western fans.

Nikujin, Tekkyuuman, Sogeking.

Nikujin for aforementioned reasons.

Love the tight evolution of level design in Tekkyuuman & the shortcuts in the first few levels plus "tricks" to beating the bosses.

Sogeking.. is just fucked up and hilarious.

Haven't tried Hakaiman until just now. One of his more complex ones, neat.

I'd have to go with the same three. Teppoman 2 is easily the best by far and most polished. Nikujin and Hakaiman are equally good in my opinion.

Having finished nearly all of his games, I have a special place in my heart for some more:
-Kusariman: Unique swinging mechanic. Took me so long to figure everything out and beat, it must have grown on me somehow..
-Bimboman: really cool mechanics, despite gruel timed jumping puzzles
-Kamutaro: Just a fun, weird, fast-paced brawler
and
-Firearms: Such a fun and polished little shooter, too bad it only has 2 stages. I hope he picks that up again at some point.

Takkyuuman is pretty cool and about as "tight" as Teppoman 2 but somehow I never fully enjoyed the core mechanics.

The music is all from a site called Freedom House: http://fhouse.s17.xrea.com/ ("material midi" section)
Mostly the "battle" songs. Battle5b for example is the stage 1 music in Teppoman 2.

That's where most of his games' music is from, apart from the midis of other games' music.
