Wow the art and animations look amazing! Are you planning on going with Nintendo like sfx or more realistic ones for the game?

Been tying some movements to animation frame changes instead of just moving them over time. I feel it's less slidey and more solid this way. Moving 1px/0.1s (old): Moving 2px when the bullet changes frame (new): Crazy how much better this looks!

I think this gif will be my reference for sword slashes from now on. Many artists struggle with representing weapon slashes properly (me included) and you have tackled the problem elegantly. Also, broomstick guy for the win!! Also, these animations brought back some childhood memories of playing Usagi Joyimbo on my C64.

I haven't played Usagi on C64, but it has a ton of interesting stuff, thanks for bringing it up Batowski :D The broomstick guy is going to keep making appearances in the future, whenever a new sword skill is needed For the next boss I'm trying to keep the setup simple. There's a simple collision check on either side for walls and player, so if the boss harasses you to a corner, he's going to jump and stomp you, but you'll also have a chance to exit the corner. Funny thing I noticed while searching for a good reference for this type of big character and a walk cycle, I noticed in Megaman X none of the bosses move by walking. It's either dashing or jumping.

Making some new explosion effects Here's a breakdown of the latest one, inspired by 80s anime.

You only just found this game? Oh man you've been missing out (Granted, there are tons of games on TIG I've yet to look at, so I can't say anything) Def agree on the art being absolutely amazing.

The game is designed in pictures and doesn't have any written documents. Here's how the design for the world map looks currently. The different colored s grant you new skills. Dream dojo is a place where you can upgrade your skills. Also game is now at 20% completion.

Congratulations on getting to 20% completed!
I'm intrigued by the world map - so it looks like there'll be an element of exploration with areas looping round a bit, is that right?
Also, I was tempted to quote one of the images and tell you that it looks amazing, but I couldn't pick a favourite. You're doing an amazing job with the look of this, keep it up!

Yeah, I remember one of the wow moments while playing Ninja Gaiden Black on XBOX was when some of the areas loop through previous levels. This would usually happen a bit after you've unlocked a skill that enables you to reach secrets in the levels you loop through. Getting to visit early areas also underlines how much your playing skills as well as your character have improved, when defeating once tough enemies is a breeze.

Oh yeah I forgot how obsessed I was with Ninja Gaiden actually but that's a great point - when you realise how much you've improved it's extremely rewarding. I think this is something Demon/Dark Souls does really well too.
I'm only more excited now.
