Hi guys!

So the situation is the following: My compter died. I managed to get it up and running for a few hours so I could burn my most important files to a DVD, but then it was gone. Now, some weeks later I've got it back, and it's completely blank. And suddenly I remembered something I didn't save: The goddamn internet favourites.

My whole collection of cool people's art pages is gone! I had paralyzed californian dudes with twisted minds, japaneese hipsters with obscure nightmares going on below their spiky hairstyles, bulgarian yuppies making art movies about concentration camps and bubble gum, danish girls drawing webcomics on the subject of cronical nosebleed. And they're gone, I only remember very few names.

Please help by posting your favourite art pages! Maybe I'll find my way back to my original collection, hopefully I'll find even more. It seems likely that you will discover something new as well, if you just stick to the thread. Thank you, gentlemen!

I think you are misunderstanding me slightly. I don't want the big sites that collect a lot of artists, because either I already know them or they are easy to find. I want the private pages of separate artists. I know I could find those by going trough the forums, but looking at several thousand devianters' pages is a tedious process. Therefor am I asking you for you favourites.

Thanks though, pixiv.net was completely unknown to me. It is very japanese.

I had reinstalled XP on my computer and backed-up all my files in Firefox and lost half of my bookmarks. Those included my art sites. Sad So this topic is just what I needed. Well I would have anyway but this makes it better.

So sorry this is all I got right now.

I hope Ptoing* doesn't mind me referencing his Links page, but he has some exceptionally talented friends. There's about 30 artist pages, and I have spent much time poring over their works. Ptoing himself is also tremendously cool, but I'm guessing you know that already.

http://ptoing.net/html/links.htm

My personal favourites are the utterly messed up Arma Eater (though he's moved recently), the nightmarish and beautiful Esao and McBESS. Though you should check them all out.

*Ptoing, if you'd like to re-post that link, go ahead and I'll delete this here post.

 Gentleman

PS: JLJac, by the by, if you find something from your old collection in one of the suggestions, could you affix it to your first post, with a little description? I really wanna see the Nightmaring Japanese Hipsters, and Chronic Nosebleed Webcomics.

i like to favorite and follow artists, slightly worse than me. its tons more motivational for me cause i think, i can do that and BETTER! or, theyre proud of their work why shouldnt i be!

other great feelings include: feeling like youre improving more than them, not feeling like youll never be as good as them, being able to relate to them and their skill

TRY IT!

I do hope you are kidding Greg-Anims, i am of the firm opinion that if you want to get better you must compare yourself only to people better than you.

Here are just a few other neato art folks.

Thank you very much guys!

Spart was one of my old favs, and james jean too. Arma eater is a given(Nightmarish japanese hipster, isn't he?) and I had great hopes that I would be able to use his contacts page to retrieve some lost artists, but I can't find it on his new site Sad

This is all very good stuff! I have found some old favs and at least four great artists that I've never seen before, keep 'em coming!

Oh, also:

biteycastle.com

I don't know if you're also looking for animators, but Adam Phillips' is very talented, and his sense of humor is just... way out there. The Brackenwood stories are just great.
