New forest critters: The above tileset is still a bit off regarding color. We should be reworking it soon. Also, the trees need a more natural layout. Here's a few WIP takes on the logo: We'd love to hear any input / criticism regarding the logo. It still needs to be iterated on, but the more eyes on it, the better. Next, here's is a mockup of the title screen: Annnd one more mockup. Here is a WIP apple select screen: Minus the boss, the forest 'dungeon' enemies are all done. So, as you can tell from the menu screenshots, we've moved onto implementing all of the game's various systems and menus.

i like how cute the game is. I am a bit concerned by the hitbox here. It seems there's not collision between the princess and the mushroom shadows. And if i were the player i'd find it unfair as it would be death by bad collision box.

The lighting effect will be really nice when it's applied thoughtfully, like you said. At first I didn't really the the drippy effect on the "curse" part of the logo, but it's growing on me. Maybe it just seems strange if that's the only part of it that's "stylized". I think I like the lower left of the choices the best.

@b∀kkusa Thanks, cute is definitely the style we are going for. The hitboxes have been tuned a bit since that GIF, but I'll be sure to go back and see how the mini-muffins feel.
@Pixel Noise Yea, the logo is still a WIP. The word "Wicked" is slightly styled, containing a brew of sorts, if you look closely. However, yea, it doesn't stand out as much as the word "Curse". I hope "Curse" is not too jarring.
@neaptide Thanks for the kind words! They are greatly appreciated.

Here is another WIP screenshot of the titlescreen: Next, the save slot system, which has been implemented, minus the time tracking :

The green forest seen in prior posts is actually going through some changes. The entire game was originally set to an ambitious 640x360 resolution, but we've downscaled down to a more maintainable 480x270 native pixel resolution. This is still a WIP (especially The Big Bad Wolf), but here's a look at some of the reworked assets: A closer look at the new trees: Lastly, a random GIF:

I've spent the last few days implementing the equipment and enchantment systems, so there isn't much to show. Howerver, here's a screen shot of the new look for the woods area, where the game starts: That Robin Hood portrait is still a WIP

I think I actually like the new sprites and resolution a little more! Something about the eyes - I think the face is slightly more visible or featured, in a way. I don't know - I can't explain why, but she's even cuter now than she was before!
Also like the bordering and font for the Robin Hood text box!

It's been some time since I updated this devlog. I wish I had more to show, but I've been mostly coding the game's various systems. Here's a GIF of the game's title screen, with save files: The game also has a new high-def logo: Third, here's a glimpse at the whale's belly dungeon, with cameos from the mini-alligator, oyster and jellyfish enemies: Lastly, a door in action in the whale's belly:

Great to see you back - the new logo looks great. The old one had a lot of character, but I think this one has a cleaner, sharper feel overall. And nice door animation for the whale...if kind of gross
