What is your favorite level and/or tileset editor(s) and why?  Describe your workflow.

I was wondering if people would be interested if there was something better than PyxelEdit.

OGMO has treated me alright (http://www.ogmoeditor.com/) mostly because it's A) free, B) what I'm used to, and C) open source.  It's a little dated now, but according to his twitter Matt Thorson's making a new version.  I would make changes in OGMO which saves to .oel & .oep, which are just XML.  From there any old XML parser gets the data into your game.  I've heard recommendations for Tiled, based on both functionality and support.

I'm using Tiled in the last two months and its great.
For creating the actual tiles, photoshop all the way.

Best level editor I've used so far: 3D GameStudio (some old version). It's not great, but compared to making levels in Unity and Blender, it was much easier to make complex 3D indoor levels (multiy layers levels, door holes, ...), because you could do it all in the same editor.
Also used Tiled for a bit and it's fine.

I'll probably end up with my own editor at some point, because third party editors aren't very useful to me at the moment.

For making tiles, I use Gimp. So far have very little to complain about it.
