Yeah, I've heard about the book from a few sources. But also, Derek Wrote the book, should he not be the one to promote it on his own forum?

I'm reading it atm. I think it's pretty good and insightful about game design. Of course it is also nice to hear how Spelunky's development happened.

Just read it, pretty good book, some nice insights on the development of the game and even some nods to TIGSource, good job Derek  Hope he reads this... |

i was given some kind of leaked prerelease version of spelunky that iirc had no front end and when i played it i died fairly quickly and thought well, fuck this, and didn't play it again. i didn't realise it was procedurally generated until i was told some time much later

Mine took about a week and a half and I'm in the SF Bay Area. And I was late to the TIGSource party too - I missed Spelunky, Minecraft, AND Fez... |
