My girlfriend Chrissy came on the trip with us and had a really great time! She took all the photos that are on our flickr and really loved being part of the indie group. However, Friday night she realized her passport was missing. I'm going to let her explain the story here once she gets back to Canada, which will hopefully happen by Monday evening. I'm so stressed out right now, I hope she gets back okay... Especially since we live in the province where this happened.

Just travelling by bus is torture itself.

I wouldn't worry about it, I'm sure she'll get back ok. It's US to Canada after all.
When we went to Gamma this year, I realized the night before that not only my drivers license is expired, my passport is expired as well. I had to argue with the customs people to let me on the train with only one piece of ID for awhile, but it was ok in the end.
I don't know the details of the situation, but going between US and Canada is still alot easier than other countries, so I'm sure it will work out ok.

Unfortunate, hope all turns out okay . See, this is why we all need to be injected with microchips, like dogs That way they can just scan our wrists for identies.

Shit. I thought it was you that lost something this week. Chrissy is alone on the bus? Hopefully she picked up some martial art skills over the past week in case something comes up.

I think you're probably being a bit paranoid. I mean, not everyone is Vince Li.

That's terrible Alec! Hopefully everything works out, and she makes it home safe, the passport issue being all dealt with too. I really couldn't imagine being in a situation like that...

She hasn't called for 12 hours and I'm freaking out.
I really should have gone with her.

Ach, that sucks. I kept thinking I'd lose mine as it was just in my pocket the whole time.
I am sure she is fine, dude. Best of luck anyway!

Yeah, she'll make it back just fine. I really feel for you though about the 12 hours; there's nothing quite like waiting for someone you care about to call.

If she's riding a bus chances are it'll take a while, depending on the distance. Much of that might be on areas with no phone and no cell coverage.
Best of luck, either way. Chances are she's just fine, I believe.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it too much I'm sure she'll be fine as long as there's a nice cup of tea/coffee/whatever Canadians like waiting for her at the end of the line.

Man, that sucks... Dont worry about the Greyhound, I did a 50 hour stint on one a few years back - it was boring as hell and completely uneventful Great seeing you guys at GDC – can’t wait for next year

So... she made it to grand forks, but there was a blizzard. The bus wasn't allowed to drive. The next bus wouldn't be until Wednesday, and by then the snow may have melted causing more flooding so its not guaranteed that she'd actually be able to leave by then.
So instead she grouped up with some people from the bus, they're going to rent a car and drive the rest of the way.
If nothing goes wrong she should make it in, in a few hours.
