Me n' Bisse are working on a new game. I'm gonna try out something with drawn artwork instead of pixel art, just to see how it turns out. The artwork in the game should end up looking something like this.

Ow. His sword is actually dug into the ground, it's hasn't been cut in half or anything.

Lock on is for girls. It'll probably be WASD to move and mouse to aim. Dunno yet, haven't talked about it with Bisse.

Mouse 1 to shoot, mouse 2 to slash. Space to jump. WASD to move. Works in my head anyway.

I think it would work better with auto lock-on. Mouse-controlled swordin' just doesn't sound like a good idea. Plus, with auto lock-on, you can focus more on being an awesome ninja and less on aiming.

Art looks great though.

Well you wouldn't control the sword with your mouse. There'd be a crosshair controlled by the mouse, but that's for shooting. When pressing MOUSE 2, you'd just slash. We'd probably just have a 3 combo slash, no special moves or anything. But the focus is on the gun, the sword is just for melee attacks.

Yeah, I agree.

The art looks ight, I guess, allthough I liked the PixelStyle a bit better, like in GoldenEye, your previous title if I remember correctly.

But what interests me more is: any plans on features that will not make it "just another ninja game"?

No. It's not really a ninja game, it's a run and gun shooter... with a sword for melee. We're gonna just make a fun platformer/shooter, no need to cram it full of Earth shattering innovation. We like simple shooters like Contra and Metal Slug, that's what we're going for.
