Writing music for RPG's has always been a personal favorite of mine. If you are interested in this genre, join me in this video breakdown on my process for writing RPG/JRPG styled battle themes. Cheers! Beer!

JRPG battle themes are fun.  A lot of it is just song form or progressive rock form in general.  When I worked on my research project about VGM, I looked a lot at forms used in games and got a good 'feel' for how tracks are put together, particularly in a retro sort of a style.  I personally find it fun to imitate the work of other composers, mostly as a challenge for myself.  It's really rad that you created a tutorial on this ^_^
