Hey guys,I have been writing ALOT of progressive metal over the past year and figured I would give a shot at somthing I have wanted to do for a long time....Irish Metal. I realize I still have some work to do in the "Irish" area on this track. Its kind of a first attempt. Please, let me know what you think.

Thanks in advance,

Well, that was pretty badass.
That change at 1:06 was a treat as well as that guitar screech. No No NO (this emoticon, represents headbobbing to me.)
Overall the style and execution are nicely done.  Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Evil
Maybe go even wilder with the irish presence as in completely isolating the guitar ostinato and throwing in a tambourine
with the bagpipes for a phrase or something. Other than that, nicely done.  Evil Smiley Smiley Smiley

I hear you about that, the most you can do to an instrument is EQ, Chorus and Reverb it till it sounds "fake-HD".
It's what I now use with soundfonts (you can do it with VSTS as well) and I get the desired effect when mixing, also be sure to mix to different channels, unless you want some "crowdedness", which I've done on occasion towards styling and executionee!
