It's voting time people!! I have a little feedback written up but I'm going to save it for after the voting to avoid skewing the results since the world revolves around me.

How to vote:

1) Listen to ALL of the tracks linked in the poll options!! It's only fair! If you want to hear the originals, some of them are linked in the contest thread: https://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=54795.0

2) Vote for your favourite in this thread's poll. Contestants may vote, but not for themselves. The results will only be visible after the poll expires in 7 days, and voting will determine the track list order on the imaginary mixtape!

It's as simple as that. If anyone knows a good way to actually post the mix tape online with various artist attribution, let me know Smiley

Best of luck to the contestants, and happy listening/voting to all!

Submitted my vote! I loved all the entries for this musical challenge, they were all great to listen to and each remix had its own flare  Gentleman

Submitted mine, too. They were all great, but I think there was a clear winner, as far as pushing the source material goes...

Couldn't find the time to submit an entry, but I'll make sure to have a listen and cast a vote for my favourite submission. Really neat idea for the Musical Challenge, Geoff!

A draw?? Hmm, we need some kind of tie breaker that doesn't involve people having to make more music. I think the easiest way would be to post a new thread where only the two tied entries can be voted for, that we we're less likely to get a tie. If anyone has a better idea post it here or PM me, if not I'll post a new thread tomorrow.

Glad everyone enjoyed the contest! Gomez

Maybe link to the originals as well?  After all, it is an arrangement contest and half of the challenge is the creative process of expanding on another's piece of art.

Wow, a tie? I don't have any real suggestions for a resolution, but the cool yet wholly infeasible solution would be for Yellowjacket and I to cover each other, and then have another round of voting Tongue

That would be so damn cool!!!  ONE MORE MONTH OF COMPOSING!!!!!

But you should be careful what you ask for because I may come up with something VERY interesting for you to cover!   Cheesy

[EDIT]  If Glyph is ok with this, I'm honestly beginning to believe it would be the most appropriate action for a tie breaker!  I would definitely need a bit of time to write since I'm so busy with multiple side jobs as well as commissions I need to finish!

That would be the perfect way to decide the winner if you're both up for it! And it's cool if you need a while due to busy schedules, we could call it another month if that's long enough? If anyone thinks I've dragged this out quite long enough already by all means say so as the next contest can always run concurrently with the tiebreaker, with a coin toss deciding who hosts out of Yellowjacket or Glyph (traditionally the winner of the previous contest hosts the next one).

That would be fine with me, but I'm fine with a coin toss if we want to move things along Smiley

Just to clarify, I wasn't suggesting the coin toss to decide the ultimate winner of this contest, just to decide who runs the next contest if people don't want to wait around for it to start - but maybe I'm overthinking it haha Grin

Since you're both up for the tiebreak, it makes sense for you to PM each other to sort out what tracks you'll be covering and when the deadline will be, and then let us know the date here.

I will laugh so hard if it's a draw again, this could end up being a double-disc affair Cheesy

There will certainly be some great music for your EP, Geoff.  This is turning out very well and in a very interesting way.

I'll make no bones about it, I'm not going to give Glyph anything easy to cover.  After all, this is a tie breaker!  He can feel free to challenge me in a suitable fashion as well ^__^

Personally, I'd like a month to work on this.  I have so many other commitments right now that I just have to eek out time here and there to complete everything.  I'm sure he'll be done in a weekend   Wink

Heh heh, sounds fun. I don't think I have anything particularly tricky up my sleeve so I'll just choose some of my favorites again. Shall we PM the tracks to you, Geoff, and then you can distribute them to start us off at the same time?

Yep, sounds like a plan! If you both want to PM me three tracks (you can use the two that weren't covered last time if you like) I'll get them sent out straight away. Gomez

Uggh, I apologize.  I've been SO busy.  Maybe we should use the two tracks that The Translocator didn't use?   I think there would be plenty of interesting material in both of them that would make arranging them REALLY fun.

Geoff, do you still have those two tracks or should I resend them?

By a strangely helpful coincidence one of Glyph's Dropbox links doesn't work, so you each have two tracks to choose from! I've just PM'd links to both of you. You've got until the end of July, give it your all and good luck!
