Zelda is now an open world survival RPG. Let's talk about that.

I still wish it is one of Miyazaki's secret projects.
The game seems interesting though I didn't check stream. After Skyward Sword being hyped and then turning out really really boring for me I'm really wary of new Zelda titles and trying to not get too hyped about it.

Why? This time around you're like 200% certain that it'll be 150% different from the last console Zelda.

there's a stream right now: http://e3.nintendo.com/tbh the more i see of this game the more i like it. it looked like generic open world at first but it does have a lot of quirky nintendo touches that make it stand out from the rest. plus weird snake eater esque "survival" mechanics. also unlike the last few games which promised to revolutionize zelda but didn't, this one looks actually different. i am hype. it does seem like theyre taking a few pages from the souls book tho with the minimal storytelling and weapon durability and etc.

btw, remember how before ocarina of time was ocarina of time, it was the 64DD exclusive zelda 64? that game, which was later reworked into OOT, was supposed to make use of the 64DD's rewriteable carts and be an open world game with persistent changes to the world.
this is kinda that (i guess).

The range of motion you have in this game is seriously impressive. I was stoked when Link used his shield as a snowboard down that snowy mountain.

I would say it's more sandbox than any open world game so far, the game take advantage of everything like it never did before. Toss your sword at an a enemy, use magnet, fight at a distance by moving the sword at distance on him. Use wind and fire on bush to create control damage Bomb + slope + physics etc ...

there's no way that Game Over text wasn't modeled after "YOU DIED"
