It just sort out the muddied edges of the image, so we can see the edges which give us the shape of things. All was mostly lost in shadows so at quick glance it was just a mass of shadows. Now it make more apparent details that might has been missed, like seemingly water flowing from the castle, a path that goes to the castle, the overall shape of the castle, how the castle is grounded to the land (or lack thereof).
Before that it was just assumed to be TP castle, now people are less sure (though there is still a resemblance).
Basically anything that would gave us a clue to what this castle is ... which so far has raised even more question than solving lol.
Water might signal post WW, shape might signal post TP, the fact it seems to rest above a huge depression might signal fallen timeline (as in ganon castle was maintained).
