i have no idea what that is.

also i think you may have misunderstood. zelda is probably going to be a very good game and ill buy it day 1. in fact it's the only upcoming nintendo game i really care about. it just has no way of living up to the hype at this point, like every recent megahyped game. it's going to have flaws and probably a few cut features and every single one of those will be blown out of proportion by people who expected a flawless masterpiece that will change games forever or w/e the hype is.

it's also a game that dispenses with a lot of established series traditions, so it already has a built in hatebase of zelda grognards. be prepared for endless comments about how it's "a good game, just not a good *zelda* game" or how "nintendo has ruined zelda forever".

i think unless the game really is almost perfect (which would ofc be awesome), the reception is going to be similar to metal gear solid 5 (which i also loved, for the record).

Personally, I think the game'll be pretty great when it comes out. No Man's Sky built up hype by showing very small, scripted sections and interviews where the designer rattled off features that never made it into the game. In contrast, we've seen a combined ~4 hours of BotW gameplay executed very naturally by a group of testers.

So far, I'm really only concerned about the enemy variety. Thus far, we've mostly seen the same group of bokoblins over and over. Where are the spear-wielding moblins? The rock-spitting octoroks? Tektites that leap from cliffs and skulltula that drop from trees? I imagine we'll see more things to stab in the later areas but they're pretty underwhelming in the Great Plateau. Sad

Also, the remote bombs are alarmingly overpowered for something that requires no ammo. I imagine a lot of inexperienced gamers will lean hard on those their entire playthrough.

imagine if in japan the adaptation for developers from arcade games to home consoles hadn't been "everything necessarily has to be an RPG, everything"
