The idea of this topic is to collect Insights about game dev.

It can be about any aspect of development.

Need only be brief and succinct:
1- A phrase to summarize the idea.
2- And an explanation.

I will select one idea per day for 365 days.
Initially it is going to be a little chaotic.
But, done is better than perfect.

Examples:

#1- Before adding something, what is that can or need be removed?

Analogy: Polluted water does not improve with sugar.
Explanation: What can be removed is not necessary.
What can not be removed is essential.

Analogy: A game is a kind of creature. He need have various systems: brain, heart, a environment for living, etc.
Explanation: Because without any of these systems, he does not work right or dies.

#3- Before improving something, what is essential to improve?

Explanation: Similar games help to know the minimum quality requirement, for each element of the game, to an audience determined.
This is a way of knowing what is essential to improve.

#4- Before improving something, what is more faster and urgent to improve?

Analogy: Sometimes better is just sharpen the ax.
Explanation: Small changes generate energy and motivation for big changes.

I used this "method" in the method itself and created this other format.
So more people understand how to use it.
Lack now stories or real examples, to reach a wider audience. But that is not urgent and essential.

Analogy: Polluted water does not improve with sugar.
Explanation: What can be removed is not necessary.
What can not be removed is essential.
Actions: Make a list of everything that can or needs to be removed.

I like the idea, but I'm not sure about the format. Why video to show written text for a few seconds?

About every topic is possible write a lot. The video limits me and helps me summarize the main idea. And on youtube I publish simultaneously in G +, Facebook and Twitter. And it's easier to track the impact.

I had done in another format:
https://br.pinterest.com/gurigraphics/game-dev-insights/

But the public interested in game development is very low.
And interested in improving what it does is further reduced.
Because, to start wanting it, you must first fail.

Besides that, the participation in forums is not the same as in the past. The facebook groups is not worth wasting time with egos fights and disputes unconscious by territory. So, I chose videos.

The initial idea is just gather the insights. And this challenge forces me to it.
And also learn a little more about English and Spanish.
This is the insight #6: Get the maximum possible with the minimum possible.

I see. Makes sense. Youtube is not just video format, it's a network with easy connection to other networks.

Keep it up. Toca ficha, guri!  Coffee
