Any awesome vfx people looking to work remotely, full-time? Fantasy Strike is a fighting game in development by ex-Street Fighter dev David Sirlin (limited info here: www.sirlin.net/fantasystrike). It boils the genre down to the fundamentals, so it's pretty unlike other fighting games. Much more accessible, yet still highly competitive.

We're using the Unity engine, so ideally you're familiar with that and with lots of different methods of creating in-game effects (particles, sprites, 3D shapes, etc). We want you to lead our vfx effort and be an expert in your domain. We're looking for a comic book / anime style for the vfx. Fire, water, lightning, ghosts, dust, hit sparks, boulders shattering, we got it all!

We want a generally 2D style, like the effects seen in Guilty Gear here:

Or in Rising Thunder here and here. This video shows those in action.

Here's an example of the kind of visual effects we DON'T want.

Let us know if you're interested! Respond to this thread and send us an email at [email protected] and we can give you more information! Please include a cover letter and appropriate samples of your work. Thanks!
