SCHLONG IS ON ITCH.IO NOW!Schlong - it's pong with 100% more dong. This thread may be a bit NSFW-ish. 8===========================================================================D NSFW gameplay gif: https://media.giphy.com/media/xT0GqcclNKuuhrISac/giphy.gifI just started this last night in Unity. It's an extremely limited offshoot of another game I've had boiling for a while now. I'm probably going to finish up the bulk of the design and graphics this week and pass it off to my friend in audio and probably have it up on itch.io mid-July. Controls: WS - Up/Down P1 movement. AD- Counter/Clockwise P1 movement. Arrow Keys - P2 movement equivalent of P1 Double tapping in any direction will erect in that direction. Really just wanted to understand the bendy nature of physics in games like Super Pole Riders and Push Me Pull You. Comments and critique more than welcome. 8===========================================================================D

You should definitely put a NSFW tag somewhere in there. I'm at work looking at this and I would prefer it if no one else saw.

Put in some placeholder sounds this morning, added particles (orange pop bubbles, green soda spray, fireworks, and confetti), backgrounds (6 total), and schlong materials (3 for each player). The rest of my to-do list really just involves getting the Win-state to feel more juicy and refining the double tap for erection feature.

It's clear to me after watching your gameplay video that what pong has been missing is 100% more dong. Thank you.

Thinking about changing the name to just "Dong." Any thoughts?

what in the name of god and heaven have you done to video game history
also "dong" is better, putting my vote in after you've already had the thing done unfortunately
"dong" is better because the d is an inverted capital P so, yeah, duh
edit: this is substantially less nsfw than you let on

Haha thanks, rj™!
And yeah, I like Dong a little more, but it's going to be more re-work than it's really worth at the moment. Maybe that can be the sequel's name.
Also yeah, it's really not that NSFW, just didn't want to upset anybody on accident.

Thanks man! And in canon, they're shiny alien dongs now. We'll get to the human dong wagon later.

Here's the OST cover. My good friend Steve worked on the music. The game is also now on Itch.io! Thanks for checking in, everybody. Schlong may return again someday, I'd still love to hear everyone's thoughts.

Got another article on Vice's Motherboard.I don't mean to post these articles as any form of humble bragging (reading my last post, it sort of felt like that). I'm trying to analyze what's succeeding and what's failing about the game. I actually screwed up and luckily the guy who wrote the article above warned me of a false-positive Trojan virus that came with my zip file for the PC download of Schlong. "Maltule.C!cl" seemed to run up against Windows Defender and was generated when I zipped up the Schlong.exe. However, when I put the .exe and data folders one folder deeper and then zipped up the topmost parent folder, this file did not generate. Another issue I ran into (and see on a lot of itch.io games) is the Unknown Publisher (Your computer may be at risk) warning you get when opening the application. After a little digging I found that removing my custom desktop icon for Schlong and leaving it with the default Unity icon allowed Windows to recognize the application as being under a known publisher. Otherwise, I have to go through a longer process to avoid this warning message. I hope to continue learning these things to avoid future issues with more of my serious games.
