I have absolutely no idea what that's about, Stepehen.  I'm sure there must be an 'ah! moment somewhere which you often seem to have in your games... but couldn't reach it. I loved the music though!

I...wouldn't count on it  Tongue

I played your game for a bit earlier on today, but didn't make it too far.  Will try it again now.

Yeah, you had a pretty fun log going during the compo Mirosurabu.  Suddenly there was hand holding and babies.  Giggle

And abortion ten minutes later. Sad Should be finished soon, though.

@stephen:

My fingers fell off. I got something like 490 or so.

I realized I've forgetting to post what I finished here!  My game is Mood Fo Llaw: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/tag/mood-fo-llaw/

I made it with game maker in the last 9 or so hours of the contest (finally got an idea.)  I'm really looking forward to what you guys have to say about it.  I might have made it too hard, I'm not quite sure.  If it is hard, I'd say at least get to the boss, and you will have seen everything it has to see.  The boss battle didn't turn out exactly as I wished it could have, but there is always next time, right?  I think overall for a first time entry, I did pretty well.  I just hope in a time or few from now I'll be experienced a coder enough as to not need to use gamemaker.

My entry is the most terrible thing anyone has ever made.

But that's what you get from working in PowerPoint.
Make sure you package it into an exe. (this helps) :D
I'll do that a little later, but the process is so incredibly complicated that I'm too brain-dead to try it now.

Oh, and here's my entry if you all want to try it out. It's bad. Really, really, really bad.
Actually not very complicated once you do it a couple times (just takes 5 minutes once you know how to do it). I can upload a packaged up version for you if you want, though.

This sounds completely awesome out of context.

http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2009/04/19/by-touching-it-with-your-spikes/

I spent most of the time thinking up an idea, almost all of the actual development time getting the thing moving and rotating and looking decent, and two minutes drawing a level that you can't actually beat. I'm not sure whether I should expand on this idea or not.

A couple of people said they got lost playing one section of my entry, so here's a handy map:

My entry:

It's called Hello.

Mjau I enjoy the C64 style palette in your game.
I wasn't able to get far unfortunately, I think I'm text adventure illiterate.

I did get a bit turned around in the lights-out section, but only for a minute or so.

By the way, thanks for including the source.  It was fun unchecking the Immovable attribute on the mountains and knocking them into each other Tongue

Heheh, I did that too. Now that I think of it I should've left some wolf3d-style secret walls around the place.

RESULTS are finally in.

Looks like I got 3rd in Audio, 5th in Technical, 6th in Graphics, and 7th Overall out of 123 entries. How'd everyone else go?

I'm quite happy! 5th Overall, 5th Innovation, 4th Technical. Not too shabby for my first LD.  Hand Metal Left Smiley Hand Metal Right

The only thing I'm a bit disappointed with is that so few people took the time to vote. I only got a good 50 downloads (out of more than 120 voters), and of those only 20 bothered to vote. I rated some 60 entries myself, so I'd hoped that other people would at least return the favor.

That'll probably improve if the voting system is streamlined next time around. AFAIK if you were picking games from the grid you had to click the screenshot to view the final post, copy the author's name, go back to the grid via the entries link, and search for the author's name.

Woah, I got fourth in innovation and tenth in theme. Well, color me surprised.

Seriously someone go discover the yet seen chunk spectrum that can be described as surprised, then turn it into a paint or dye, then apply said paint or dye to my flesh and/or clothes.

I got 2nd in Innovation, 3rd in Technical. I'm happy with that! My game was pretty boring, after all. Grin

Great contest, folks!

Wow, I know my game wasn't amazing, but at least I expected to get more than 2.06 in the "fun" category, since I have quite a good time when I play it myself, hehe. My best category was Audio (thank you sfxr), where I got 3.33...  Tired
