Speed was on TV last night. When the music started playing I thought it was Metal Gear Solid. It must of been inspired by the music from Speed. Check it out:  |

That's crazy how similar it is! Dunno if you're joking but it was confirmed to be "inspiration" which is why Kojima stopped using it, which made people made when MGS4 came out and didn't have it as a coda to the series |

If you never made the connection the first 5 metal gear games (mg1 - MGS3) particularly had TONS of movie stuff referenced in them. MG2's soundtrack is pretty much a direct homage to escape from new york, and snake as a character of course is designed and NAMED after kurt russel's character in that series. (they even directly reference that in MGS2 by snake using the name "pliskin"). I think that's what made the origional games more fun, they were less serious and had a lot of fun references to other media. (i still lmao at the MGS3 secret theater cut scenes, lol)
MG2 is also i think the most DIFFICULT game in the series, god it's terrible if you're seen in that one, lol.

that's just kojima's thing lol. he loves referencing movies. snatcher is a very blatant blade runner ripoff and boktai is one big circlejerk of spaghetti western references, the 2nd game in particular.

You could replace the words "Speed OST" to "OST of 99.99999% of big budget action/suspense/thrillers". Honestly, most big budget movie soundtracks are entirely indistinguishable from each other to me.
