I wish I could just go for a walk and catch some pokemon instead of having to drive to specific locations to walk around. Suburbs are incredibly empty and even the parks nearby have barely any pokemon.

no actually people just react negatively when you remove glitchy features instead of patching them and also shut down 3rd party websites that fix your game's issues for you because of "TOS violations". they could maybe afford pulling shit like that if this was a game of middling popularity, but we're talking about the biggest game in the world right now. they blew it.

User numbers dropping off already. Tbh one of the game's biggest problems rn is that it's really difficult for casuals to win gym battles because every gym is owned by people with mega OP dragonites and shit. Sure you can theoretically win but it's tedious and requires perfect dodging skills, i.e. things that frustrate casuals even more. What i would do if I was in charge is split up a gym into multiple "leagues" based on trainer level ranges. If you battle at a gym you can only battle within your own league. Every league has its own gym leaders.

welp it was obvious that it wasnt going to remain a mega phenomenon for long, but itll be interesting to see how large the remaining hardcore playerbase will be once the dust clears and if niantic will cater to them.

I hardly play anymore, but if Niantic has any kind of Legendary event planned, I'll gladly attend
