you'll also release the source code (because why not?)
i don't release source codes because i don't think they'll be useful for people. i'm a terrible programmer so people are better off writing their own code rather than rewriting mine.
Have you tried being a better programmer?

No. I have no interest in programming outside of what I need for games and im pretty much retired from gamedev anyway.

Yeah I still say freeware.

"Freeware" has evolved into "free-to-play" or the much more accurate term: "Free-to-start"
or "fee-to-pay"
