Hello all!

I am working on a platformer where you control a "prophet" in heaven who is able to impact events on "earth" from his place in heaven. I'm looking for feedback on the way I'm currently delineating heaven from earth. The idea is to have both views on the screen at once but the "prophet" would die or be unable to move into the "earth" area. Currently I am using clouds as the "boundary", but that specifically is what I am looking for feedback on. Below is a very early screenshot...

 

I would really appreciate any feedback on this aspect of the game. Positive and negative welcome. Thanks a ton!

Imho I think you should make a shader with bright edges(fading from edge for a length, fade amount determined by the distance from the edge) for the top of the clouds and everything above.

Don't need a shader for that. Could just have a very, very wide sprite with a texture like that on it.

Don't worry, I've seen it misspelled more times than correctly spelled during my time on TIGS... Cheesy Probably three times this week alone.
