Today there are more than 250 deaths. And the number may rise.
Italy is an extremely corrupt country by west-european standards. And that's the result. It's not that they don't have money, they do, but they don't spend them for these necessary and important things. They likely keep them for themselves.
An equally terrible earthquake happened seven years ago at "
L'Aquila", still in central Italy. When disasters like this happen, the only things Italian's important people can do are raving on talk shows about how terrible the situation is without even raising a finger for it, blabbering about how they will help people without doing anything at all and leave all these poor and devastated people at themselves, with only civil protection struggling for helping them, having trouble even getting funds for basic necessities. And these people will keep homeless for long, guaranted.
Why do i know? Because, with that horrible runt excuse of human being scumbag piece of crap number 71 (which, in Naples culture, is the "man made of poop") called Berlusconi, it already happened. Renzi will likely be the same because he's another incredible asshole. He became Prime Minister "literally" without popular elections! He hasn't done anything of useful since and has done more harm than good. They even want to change the consitution.
Don't even talk about charity! I'd donate something but what happens to us in Italy is that when we donate any amount of money, i start receiving loads of "spam" mail letters from "charity" organization. So, that's how you spend charity money? I don't know if this happens in other countries, but, seriously, Italy is a corrupt cesspool.
Sorry for rant but, seriouly, i don't see a change in years in this devastated country.
