I rather not bad mouth other people. Let's just say that things didn't work out. He only contributed to the concept above, all other graphical elements I made myself. Unfortunately, I don't have enough free time to work on upgrading the sprites, That's why I want to outsource that part of the work.

I'm not saying to tell us what he did wrong, more like what makes him stop?
I mean the example above is like a draft to me and just need a few steps from completion.

 It was a strange experience. He original started working on the draft and done half of it. I wired the first deposit and shortly after that he became unresponsive for a few weeks. I paid no attention to it at first since I can also be very busy at times with work and all. Eventually I sent him an email asking if he needed more money to finish it since I wanted it done. I got a reply from him letting me know that it was okay and he would finish the work on the agreed terms. He continued to work on the draft for another week. He asked me if everything was good and he could start the coloring and I said yes. And that's the last I heard from him.
